11:30 am - 2:00 pm, Pruning Demo begins at NOON 

Calling all rose lovers! Whether you're a seasoned grower or just starting out with these fabulous flowering plants here in the Pacific Northwest, we all could use a brush-up on a few of the finer points of their care and culture. One of the topics we get asked about most is pruning.  Representatives from the Portland Rose Society will be demonstrating how and when to cut back different classes of roses, including hybrid teas, floribundas and shrub roses. 

And, as a bonus, the Portland Rose Society will also be offering free pruner sharpening to make sure you're fully ready to make clean, confident cuts when the time is right.  Bring your questions and your pruners (limit one per person).  No loppers, please! 

Soil pH testing also available – bring at least a 2-cup sample in a plastic bag with your name and contact information.  Take a sample after scraping aside the top two inches of garden soil.
